Mushrooms/Fungi are a common problem for homeowners struggling to keep their law in the upper form. Often originating from rotting material on your lawn, the mushrooms can grow and spread quickly through the grass. One solution is that this problem is vinegar, a domestic article that functions as a natural fungicide. With proper application, the acetic acid inside the vinegar will kill the fungi and hinder their return.
How to Kill Mushrooms With Vinegar
Step 1
Dilute the white vinegar by incorporating four portions of water into a piece of white vinegar into a plastic cube.
Step 2
Use a funnel to pour diluted vinegar into a spray bottle.
Step 3
Protect your hands with pairs of work gloves and cover your eyes with glasses. The goggles will be useful in case the wind blows the vinegar to your face during the application. Spray the mushrooms on a day that is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit, but below 85 degrees. The days with little wind will help you to shoot the mushrooms on the grass easier.
Step 4
Hold the tip of the spray bottle 4 to 6 inches away from the fungi and cover with a heavy dose of diluted vinegar. Avoid spraying the vinegar solution to the surrounding grass, which will also be killed.
Step 5
Wait three to four days for the vinegar to kill the mushrooms and then monitor the grass for persistent growth. Sprinkle the remaining mushrooms and watch them until they die. Add the dead mushrooms to remove them.
